Today I am honored to have Kristin Nicholas participate the tour. Kristin is an idol of mine, a artist who has an extraordinary eye for color and an infectious sense of style. To spend any time with one of her books is to be persuaded how easily everything in life can be made an expression of your own creativity.

Kristin has her own yarn line with Classic Elite, Color by Kristin. It has mohair and alpaca in the blend – for color intensity and skin friendliness – and comes in a juicy coordinated palette that makes combinations easy.

I love working with this yarn both for the saturation of color, but also for the honest woolyness of it, confident that anything I make with it will endure hard wear and long winters.

Kristin shares my interest in the Folly Cove Designers and was enthusiastic about that aspect of my collection. Today, Kristin is opening her comments for a free copy of the the cover pattern for the Folly Cove collection, the Annisquam Beret, made in four colors of her yarn.

I made a version of this for myself recently, in another color combination, beginning with #3226, Aubergine. I apologize for the selfie, but this will give you an idea of how the fun with color you can have with this pattern:

As you can also see, it does very well without the ribbon, if you’re feeling less than flamboyant about it. So check out what Kristin has to say, comment, and keep your fingers crossed. Cheers!
