I may be regressing. I know it's the 20-teens, but my heart is attracted to the 1970's all of a sudden.  I want to be making granny squares, or at least, granny triangles like these:

And make little bags with embroideries and tassels on them. I mean, what a great little loom project would these be?

or maybe I could just try my hand at needle work. While the rest of the knitting community is having a fling with the quilting bug, I feel unnaturally drawn to the crewel work of my youth.

When I was in the fourth grade, my mom supplied me with all the thread and canvas I could use, and I would play sick so I could stay home from school and stitch all day. (plus ça change, eh?) I don't have any of the things I made then, probably because I never finished anything, but I remember loving the process, and the cozy feeling of the bed and my room all to myself while I worked.
