The neck-down sweater unfurled its arms yesterday, as I knit the row where the instructions say to put the arm stitches onto waste yarn and continue on to knit the body. I have been knitting my way along in the gloom for the first two skeins of this, and now I can try the thing on! Suddenly, I could see the sweater I had been knitting; it was like a butterfly unfolding its wings for the first time.

And here is a measly one inch advance in the floral bag, but from the back, so anyone who is curious can see that I am indeed knotting some of my ends together, just like I’ve been told that some knitters do on all their colour-block knitting. I have never been brave enough to be this casual, so I think this is a perfect project to play with a little. Felting will make everything okay.
