I am excited to announce that Beth Smith of The Spinning Loft has invited me to come out and host a program on Custom Spinning Wheels. It will be part of her Fifth Anniversary celebration November 18 & 19th, and she is calling it The Dream Wheel Weekend. As part of my presentation, I will be accompanied by a number of wheels by the makers featured in the Spin-Off article, including my own Watson Marie, and I'll share some of the stories from my interviews with the likes of Rick Reeves and Magnus Drudik that there just wasn't enough room for in the article's word count. If you live in the area and want to see some lovely work by contemporary wheelwrights, please come along Friday night for the slide show and talk, and Saturday when I'll probably let you spin on some of them. I am looking forward to the road trip part of it too, since I will be co-piloting with Random Kelly, and we will be trading off for passenger seat kntting time, I am sure. Cue the stockinette stitch project.

On the knitting front, I am delighted with my freshly dyed superwash yarn from Kim of Woolen Rabbit, called Frolic. I've swatched and done the math for something new. The colors are called Butterscotch and Moroccan Spice. Don't they just make your mouth water?
