as requested, a couple of closeups of the furry bits:
Okay, not so bad after all. We’ve made friends, so no one needs to feel like I’m beating myself up about this. Once the Yarn Non-Buying Agreement expires, I need to find a matching colourway to knit another Clapotis I think, to coordinate with it. Any suggestions?

Your bag really turned out lovely. I think the softness of the embroidery gives it a lovely antique look, and the lining is just perfect.
Hey, Julia – will ya’ look at that? It’s wonderful! Is hubby out of the doghouse now? Great job – thanks for the pics.
Hey Julia…..it looks great!! I think that you can see the details just fine and the lining suits it.
Hmm…I’m going to start a Clapotis too. I guess I am one of those following sheep…bbbaaahhhhh, LOL
Definitely a swan. It’s lovely, Julia! The lining is great, too.
Carry that bag with pride girl! Not many have tried it, and it is definitely a one of a kind swan! Booga bags are many, your swan……just gorgeous!
I’m going to be polite and cultured and not say I told you so. At least not in a “nyah-nyah” kind of voice. I wish I could sew. There is a bag sitting over there in the corner that would like a cool lining like that. I’m no coward, though: I AM going to try. P.S. I love your bag, in case you were wondering.
I think you did an excellent job. I loved that bag the first moment I saw the pattern, but am too intimidated by the intarsia. Yours is just lovely.

More Kersti?
Your bag turned out great!
Holy Cow! The bag looks awesome. The fabric is a great compliment to it. Good eye!
Totally fab !
So fantastic it almost makes me want to struggle with the intarsia tangle – my least favourite type of knitting.I did far too much of it,for money,in the 1980s !
It really is a gorgeous bag.
Go, bag lady, go! She saves the day! Like the coordinating fabric, too. It’s *swinging.* 🙂
I love the way the felting gives the flowers a misty, intenselook. The whole point of felting it, right? I really, really think you should be proud of it. I have that fabric in my ‘Why Do I Stash Fabric When I Don’t Sew’ stash. It goes perfectly with the bag. Mazel tov! xoxo Kay
I have been dreaming about this pattern since I saw it (although perhaps in a different colorway) but I just haven’t had the time/energy to commit to it. Yours is gorgeous! Not a blob at all, definitely a swan. 🙂
your bag is lovely! i’ve been wanting to make this bag but can’t make the leap. congrats!
It’s jsut as wonderful as I imagined..at least from here! Enjoy it as it looks like a wonderful companion.
Gorgeous bag!!
Yea! All done..and it looks lovely.
It’s beautiful! And that lining is perfect. It’s so fun to have a bag where the lining just makes you smile every time you open it. I’m glad you two have made friends. 🙂
Turned out great after all…
I have a suggestion for your matching Clapotis…I like the Cirque colorway for a match but YMMV…

Have fun!
That bag is definitely a swan. I’ve been thinking about trying felting for a while – now I’m really inspired. I’ll have to track down that pattern and try it myself.
Beautiful bag, Julia! Love it!
Just beautiful! I am in awe. Congrats on a job well done.
