There's been a lot of flat knitting around here lately, just taking that yarn and slipping it through the loops with a couple of steel needles.

Knit across.

Purl back.

Maybe increase, maybe not.

It ends up looking a lot like this, which is my Larch Cardigan, ready for the neck detail:
