After my post last week about dressing to impress at the LYS, Dean despaired that he was not accustomed to the royal treatment I expect from my regular shops. I suggested that men in yarn stores should, by virtue of being male, should be treated like royalty. A man in a yarn store is either buying a present for his knitting counterpart or, as a man who knits, is so special that he should command the full resources of the shop when he arrives. Whether it is his shyness or the failure of the staff to understand that before them stands a bona-fide male knitter, I thought that inserting this into the body of his next project would serve to eliminate both obstacles.
